5. Passenger Services: Bangladesh Railway provides several classes of passenger services, ranging from high-end intercity trains to local trains. Notable trains include the Subarna Express Drutajan Express, and Maitree Express, which connects Dhaka to Kolkata, India.

 

6. Challenges: Despite its vast network, Bangladesh Railway faces challenges such as outdated infrastructure, a shortage of rolling stock, and operational inefficiencies. The government is working on initiatives to overcome these challenges, including investment in new technologies and international collaborations.

 

7. Future Plans: Bangladesh Railway has plans to introduce electric trains, modernize signaling systems, and expand its routes to improve both domestic and international connectivity. The government is also keen on connecting Bangladesh Railway to the Trans-Asian Railway network.
